Nepal – street shots and Himalayas

When I was a lot younger, I measure my out-of-town trips’ success according to the number of purchases/souvenirs I take home with me (no matter how useless some of them are). But since the time I got into photography, taking home good shots has been my priority during travels. My non-photographer travel companions would always comment on how heavy my camera bag is, but I wouldn’t mind carrying it as long as I get to take good shots.

Despite the limited time we had, I was glad to have taken a lot of photos on our second day in Nepal. It was a very interesting shoot. Everything was picturesque that I was snapping away non-stop with my cam. It was difficult to shoot and keep up with the rest of the tour group though.

The day started with a plane ride to have a closer look at the mountains, including the Himalayas and Mt. Everest. As interesting as it may sound, it was one part of the trip I could’ve dispensed with since I experienced motion discomfort half the time. It probably didn’t help that I was seated at the back of the plane for the entire trip.

At one point during the flight, we were allowed to go to the cockpit for a different view.

I think that’s Mt. Everest there (the highest peak): I’m a useless travel blogger. Haha So I was only able to get a few shots; I was groggy for the rest of the flight and the airplane windows compromised the quality of the shots anyway. 😛

In the afternoon, we went to Durbar Square in Kathmandu. These are some street shots I took on the way:

Yeti parteeeeyyy: This boy kept on following my sister until she offered to adopt him. Haha. He looks a bit like my older brother and his son, Benjo:
