Two days before the trip, I saw a video post by one of my law school batchmates, Bobbie, on Facebook of their cab ride in Nepal. I knew she was in some far flung country for her internship, previously seeing her interesting photos online. I only found out she was actually in Nepal when she posted the video. I immediately sent her a message, asking her if we could meet up. She replied before I left, gave me her number, and we arranged to meet. It’s great that I have friends from all over. 🙂
Due to the limited time we have, we only got to meet for a few hours on our last day in Nepal. While the rest of the tour group was resting at the hotel, Bobbie took me to Boudhanath, a Tibetan Buddhist temple in Kathmandu. Apparently, it had the largest stupa (or monument symbolizing Buddha) in Nepal. Bobbie told me it was her favorite spot in Kathmandu. Going there made me realize how short our stay was; there was so much to see in Nepal and three days just isn’t enough to cover it.

Bobbie and me (yes, we asked a random guy to take our photo. Hehe): The girl on the rightmost looks like my older sister. Hehe This young boy just ran in front of the cam to have his picture taken. It might be a bit blurred (especially since his hands were moving), but it’s one of my favorite photos from the trip:
Prayer flags: The Stupa: We had tea and momo (stuffed dumpling) at a resto by the stupa:
Afterwards, we went to Thamel, a popular destination for tourists/backpackers. They had restos with free wifi (which we didn’t get at the hotel) and a lot of stores. I bought a scarf (P150) and some nice purses (P40). I felt bad after for not shopping to my heart’s content. 😛
