Tan Family – Maternity Portrait Session

Shine and I have been in the same bible study group for months, but there are a lot of things I didn’t know about her until the day of the shoot. For one, I didn’t know that before she became a full-time mom, she was a professional photographer who took photos of kids and families. She even had a complete indoor studio which she shared with another photographer. (How can I miss this detail?? Haha!) If Shine and her family – Deo, Kuya Pocholo and (now Ate) Gwen – weren’t super nice, I would’ve panicked after finding out about it; so thank God that they are :))

These photos were taken as soon as Parks and Wildlife opened on November 1 last year, so we practically had the whole place to ourselves. It’s still one of my favorite parks to shoot in in QC because of how convenient it is for photographers. No permit needed and all you have to pay for is the minimal parking fee at the entrance. There are a lot of nice, big trees too. It gets a bit crowded though on a regular weekend so you have to schedule the shoot on off-peak hours (such as 8 am on a holiday hehe)

Had a nice, relaxed time with the Tan family, who were all so easy to work with. For a full-time mom who is expecting and taking care of 2 kids, Shine is soooo calm and steady, and she looks so fresh too! I’d probably be bloated and cranky if I get pregnant (I do get bloated and cranky even when I’m not. Haha). I’m glad the kids were cooperative and had fun with the giant bubble maker which I got from a previous birthday party I covered :)) Even Daddy Deo enjoyed playing with it. 🙂 Hope to take portraits of this family again with Basti, who is now 3 months old. 🙂
