Two couples I know celebrated their wedding anniversary yesterday, at 2.20.2020. The wives are good friends I’ve known since grade school – I grew up with them, shared countless nights with them talking on the (landline) phone, having “deep” discussions about life and relationships (including – and especially – the romantic ones. Hehe); chatted with them on mIRC and ICQ (LOL). Ten years ago, they finally settled down and committed their lives to marriage. One of the couples has three kids already and Joy and Mitch, featured below, have two. I feel privileged to have become their unofficial photographer for the past 10 years, and I hope to continue being a witness to how their family grows every year.
These photos of the Dauz family were taken around the same time last year, in February. Joy wanted a quick, casual session so we did the best we can in under an hour at BGC. Thankfully the kids were very cooperative, and the lighting cast off by the sun at the golden hour was just awesome.
I know a lot of people who feel intimidated by the thought of having their family photos taken, but family sessions don’t always have to be a production number – they can be as chill and natural as this one. No need for elaborate preparations, fancy outfits or props. Honestly, I would prefer chill sessions like this (and I’m sure dad and the kids would too :P). This is what inspired me to include “Day in Your Life” sessions as part of my photography services.
